Regent University deletes Bush reference on its website

It's not just the missing White House emails anymore.

A few days ago in an article about Monica Goodling I wrote about Pat Robertson's Regent University's ties to the Bush administration. The school boasted having placed over 150 of their law graduates in the Bush administration, primarily into the Dept. of Justice.

In the last few days, they've tried to throw that piece of information down the Memory Hole. Didn't work, thanks to an alert blogger at Les Enragés.org.

Take a look at this cached version of Regent's website's "quick facts" page, as it appeared on the afternoon of April 6, 2007.

Now check it out today.

The final bulleted item "150 graduates serving in the Bush Administration" has disappeared from the list of "Distinctive Graduates."

  1. Thanks for the link, and the reference to me as an 'alert blogger.' I hope you liked the part speculating as to whether Regent is training IT techs to faith-heal appliances. SOMEbody did a number on the White House email system, and their level of competency sure fits Regent's 'fourth tier' rating.

  2. Yes, the fundies are funny when they're not scary. On something "nonapropos" of this post, what happened to the RRCG and Temple of Regulus websites? Do they still exist? I don't know if you know or not, I'm just idly curious.

  3. I don't know what's going on with those websites. Perhaps you can write the UGLA to find out. Please let us know what you learn.

  4. You know, even rats leave a sinking ship. And this administration seems to be a sinking ship. What troubles me, what I fear, is that they are taking our nation down with them.

  5. Regent University plays hide and seek with 150 Bush admin alumni -- Now they're here... Now they're not!

As late as 6 April, 2007, Regent University's “facts” web page proudly boasted that they had:

“150 graduates serving in the Bush Administration.”

Between April 6 and April 12, the University removed that statement from their web site and, for at least several days, (April 12-16) there was no statement listed at all about any Regent U. graduates working for the Bush administration.

Sometime on April 16, a new statement appeared on their "facts" page:

"150 students have served in the Bush administration."
    http://www.regent.edu/general/about_us/facts.cfm

Apparently, not all of the 150 are still "serving" Bush, but does this statement also mean that some of the 150 "students" never actually graduated from the U?
